There are so many alternatives to testing on animals now, so companies who do are ignoring the cruelty free options. Testing products on animals is low cost, which is why companies seem to be fine with the horrible conditions these animals are subjected to for testing their product.
By supporting cruelty-free companies, you’re sending the whole industry a message in the only language they speak: money. If enough people boycott companies that test on animals, we can truly make a change and influence more companies to go cruelty-free. With that, here are some of my favorite cruelty-free brands + their best products:
Jeffree Star Cosmetics
I love everything Jeffree Star. from his videos to his liquid lips, I truly cannot help but stan. But what I love most about his cosmetics line is that it’s 100% cruelty free! The quality of these products is insane, all the eyeshadows are perfectly blendable and the lipsticks stay on ALL NIGHT LONG. He has so many color options you can 100% find your perfect shade in any product. My top 3 JSC products are:
Velour Liquid Lip in Mannequin
Blood Sugar Eyeshadow Palette
Lip Scrub in Mojito
Glossier
Glossier has it all: beautiful packaging, products that actually work and no testing on animals! Glossier has a ton of products online ranging from skin, makeup and fragrances – they also have pop up stores frequently around the US. I love using Glossier products on a day to day basis – for a natural, fresh look. My top 3 Glossier products are:
Cloud Paint in Puff
Generation G lip in Crush.
Boy Brow in clear
Ouai
I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about Ouai. It is a haircare line founded by Jen Atkin (BFF + hairstylist to the Kardashian-Jenners) focuses on realistic yet luxurious hair tips, tricks and products. Their website has so many how-to videos, which are a GODSEND. (I may be good at makeup but I am seriously lacking in the hair department) I love all their products and each one is paraben, phthalate, and sulfate free! Woo! My top 3 Ouai products are:
Leave In Conditioner
Texturizing Hair Spray
Anti-Frizz Hair Sheets
NYX
NYX is my number one favorite drugstore makeup brand. It has a wide range of colors and products and sooo many cost effective dupes for high end products. (The microbrow pencil is literally an EXACT dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pencil, you’re welcome). Great quality at a great cost, what more could you ask for? They’re website also has many how-to videos which are great if you’re just beginning your makeup journey, or if you just want to pick up a few new skills! My top 3 NYX products are:
Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait
Microbrow Pencil in Ash
Wonderstick
Hourglass
Hourglass is a cruelty free luxury brand. Their products are luxe, beautiful and rich, with amazing pigmentation and coverage. Whenever I use Hourglass products on myself (daily) or a client, the compliments ROLL in. They have really mastered giving your skin a healthy, luminous glow. They also donate 1% of all website profits to the Nonhuman Rights Project! Their website also has an entirely vegan section! Hourglass is a company devoted to doing good, and that makes me so happy. If you’re gunna splurge on any luxury brand, make it Hourglass. My top 3 Hourglass products are:
Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick
Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light
Veil Mineral Primer
There are so many more incredible cruelty-free brands, but these ones are my go-to’s. Drop your fav CF brands/products below! Spread the word!!
